What really matters when it comes to training somewhere? Do you really care about the fact that Real Elite in the last year has trained, cornered, coached guys for the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator, M-1 Global, King of the Cage, Ring of Combat, Golden Gloves and more….. It all sounds great, and yes I can attest to the fact that it was great, but does it really matter? Does it make a difference in your training? Does it do anything beyond a sense of “cool” in your training community?
Unless you want to be the next “Contender” I think you need to train somewhere that fits your needs. If you want to be around fighters so you feel cool, don’t come here – we expect people to actually train. If your goals are more personal you have to find a place that fits your needs. To get in shape or learn martial arts you will be spending quite a bit of time in the gym. You better like the teacher and the students or you will be miserable pretty damned fast. Quick disclaimer; If you like people because they make you comfortable you are probably in the wrong place. Being uncomfortable is part of the process. I did say “uncomfortable” NOT hurt or broken.
At Real Elite we are fortunate enough to have developed a system that works for “Fighters” and most everyone else. We get that our way is not the only way and it may not be the best way for you. Go check out whats going on out there. See what people have to offer. Just don’t get roped into a sales pitch or fall in love with the photos on the wall. Last piece of advice in looking for a school is to take more then the free trial or intro course before you get roped into a contract. Toooo many dirtbags pitch you sunshine and rainbows until you sign then they dump you with a 16 year old who doesn’t know anything besides the fact that he isn’t paying for training in exchange for working with you while the owner counts his money.
Go find your fit. Its not about the name, location, or anything besides can these people get you to where you want to be. BOOM! Now go train.
