I got an email yesterday asking me why I am unique? It assumed that I and everyone else reading this email is unique. That is the main point in survival. We all must follow basic principles but we also need to remember that we are unique individuals that can go beyond surviving and actually thrive when faced with adversity. It is recognizing what is unique about us and finding value in it that elevates us above the masses.
How does the above help you thrive? How many successful people do you know? How many unsuccessful? The sad reality for most is that the majority of people we know are a train wreck. It is the 1 in 100 that finds balance and success. If we deny ourselves value for what makes us unique, we fall into the patterns that crushed all the other people you know besides those few mavericks. Being like everyone else does not make you special in any way.
Being a failure is easy. It takes no effort. No risk. Being successful takes work, discipline, and skill. The reason so many cling together and commiserate on their failures is because it feels good to not be alone when you are down and out. It is good to know that you are not the only loser out there. It makes it easier to stay a loser.
The challenge I have for you, and me too, is to shake off the funk and recognise the value within. To say you can rise above the rest and be the unique person you are. To set goals and achieve them at all costs simply because you can. Don’t let anyone or anything get in your way. Success comes to the bold few who have the strength to take action and believe in themselves.
Be a believer today and every day from here on out.
Start simple. Do one thing and do it to the best of your ability. Learn from the struggle and apply it to another task tomorrow. By the end of a week you can be doing at least 7 more things well. Before you know it you are on the road to mastering your life and finding success in all things.
No limits, nothing in your way but you.
