It really is ok to say this. You are not weak, you are actually pretty secure and strong to admit it.
“I don’t know.”
How many times has your ego gotten in the way of honesty and you tried to fake your way thru? Instead of letting go of the need to know and actually giving yourself an opportunity to learn, did you deny your lack of knowledge and try to BS your way thru? We have all done it. Be transparent with yourself and admit the truth. Nobody knows you are reading this.
Fear of what others are going to think makes us do dumb shit. Fear of losing whatever position we have in the hierarchy of things due to our perceived lacking can make us do dumb shit. The truth here is that we are all struggling with the same issues. Good people will see your honesty as strength because it is something they aspire to be. Shitty people may try and attack you because they are trying to hide their own inadequacies. By being strong and being honest you figure out who is friend and who is foe.
All living organisms are fighting for survival. Everything evolves and adapts to continue on. The only way we can naturally grow as humans is thru honesty. By being transparent we keep ourselves in a state of evolution. When you say you don’t know, you now have an opportunity to get in the know and evolve. If we can’t get out of our own way we are stuck in our current state and limit our ability to survive.
Stop worrying about the opinions of others and be honest with yourself so you can find the strength to simply be honest. This is the natural state we strive to achieve so we can continue to evolve. Be strong, know what you do and do not know so you can continue to learn, grow because you are transparent, and allow yourself a greater chance of survival by being truly strong instead of pretending to be strong because you are afraid of being hurt.
